Sunderland have signed Egypt international Ahmed Al-Muhammadi on a season’s loan.
The 22-year-old can operate on the right side of defence or midfield and featured in Egypt’s 3-1 defeat to England in March.
“I am delighted that the deal has gone through and I can’t wait to start with Sunderland,” Al-Muhammadi told the official Sunderland site.
“It is an absolute dream for me to be here in the Premier League. It’s the best league in the world and will be a great opportunity to prove myself against some of the best players in the world.”
“I know a lot about the manager Steve Bruce as I spoke with both Amr Zaki and Mido about him before joining,” he added.
“I watched Sunderland play many times last season while I was playing in Egypt. I regard Steve Bruce as a great manager and I’m looking forward to proving myself to him.”
