Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon has revealed that Alan Hutton has settled well into life at the club.

The full-back is currently on loan at the Stadium of Light from Tottenham Hotspur and with Kyle Walker and Vedran Corluka already ahead of him in the pecking order at White Hart Lane, the Scot is being tipped for to sign a permanent deal with the Black Cats in the summer.

“Hutts has settled in, no problem.

“He knew a few of the guys from Spurs who are up here from his time there – he gets on well with Benty and Fraizer was there for a bit as well,” Gordon said.

“He knew a few guys from those days and that has helped him settle in. He’s an out-going lad – he enjoys it and he’s quite chirpy.

“There was no way he wasn’t going to settle in and it helps that his performances have been so good.

“Hutts is a bit of character! He’s a good character to have in the squad.

“He’s certainly one of the louder guys in the squad and he has fitted right in.

“I don’t know what the situation is with that, but I’d like him to stay. If he keeps going well there’s every chance of him staying and he would be an excellent addition.”
